Job Overview
Our client is a recognized North American leader in the field of Transmission & Distribution contracting. They have tasked CMS to fill a new position in their Central Canadain office – this role is for a chief estimator to be responsible for their Central & Western Canadian project work.
You will lead an expanding team and be familiar with local, national & internal vendors and service agreements. You will work closely with operations and sales to maximize return on projects so a keen familiarity (7+ years) in the North American T&D sector is required.
Because this role is ground-floor and leadership focused you will be required to perform complex tasks independently. There will be internal on-boarding but not much more in lines of company introduction so we are looking for some who thrives with minimal supervision.
Job Requirements
Professional Engineer’s certification or IP certification in the Powerline or Power Systems Engineer trade
7 or more years of experience in the high voltage sector with an emphasis on project management or complex estimation.
An extremely strong awareness of the power transmission industry and technological & operational innovations
A natural tendency to lead a team by being a part of the team
Exceptional communication & business acumen
Professional & warm interpersonal skills with the ability to build lasting relationships with customers, vendors, management, co-workers and subordinates
